Designed plans and details for over 5 miles of waterline, a 0.5 million gallon reservoir, and a 2000gpm pump station.
Prepared Civil and Structural plans and details for Santa Barbara County Public Works Department for the seismic retrofit design (PS&E) of both Jalama Road Bridges (51C-0016 and 51C-0017). The required design and independent review were both in accordance with current Caltrans recognized seismic design standards (LRFD Method). Also assisted the County in coordination with other bridge seismic retrofit projects, including the preparation of as-built drawings.
Prepared Civil plans and details for 0.9 MGD Wastewater Treatment Facility improvements including conversion of aerated ponds to extended aeration with secondary clarification, addition of mechanical fine screens and grit removal, influent lift station upgrade, sludge thickening system and drying beds.
Responsible for design of plans and details of its Five Cities Bus Stop Expansion Project. Tasks included the following:
Utility research and mapping, Preparation of demolition plans to demolish existing asphalt concrete paved bus turnout and concrete sidewalk, Preparation of construction plans for construction of a new reinforced Portland cement concrete (PCC) bus turnout expansion, sidewalk replacement, modifications to existing parking lot.
Designed facilities to allow conversion to chloramines for disinfection at four District wells.
Designed and prepared construction plans and details for retrofitting an existing dry-pit/wet-pit sewage lift station to a duplex submersible pump sewage lift station. The new lift station contains two submersible solids handling pumps on variable frequency drives, capable of pumping a peak flow of 315-gpm.
Designed and prepared construction plans and details for the project. Project consisted of the installation of 2,674 lineal feet of new 30” diameter VCP sewer line, 1,500 lineal feet of new 36” diameter PVC sewer line; 5,272 lineal feet of new 30” diameter PVC sewer line; 37 new sanitary sewer manholes; 1,600 lineal feet of new 24” diameter ductile iron recycled water line.
Designer and Construction Observation. Project detailed the installation of 400 lineal feet of 8” PVC waterline and developed additional water services for a new waterline.
Designer to replace the existing concrete channel, drainage pipe, and 230-ft long wooden staircase at the end of Wilmar Avenue. Followed the approximate alignment of the existing stairs for the design of the stairs, platforms, and foundation. Prepared plans, and construction documents.
The City of Morro Bay owns and operates a seawater and brackish water desalination facility. The plant is currently capable of producing 450 gpm of water. Designer in developing construction documents for an upgraded calcium carbonate buffering system; new product water pumps; new cleaning waste neutralization tank; and new variable frequency drives.
